Giles Timms' own description of his entertaining short Manifestations is a good beginning in that it "stars a cartoon critter named Mr. Chip who seeks anime love in a psychedelic, ever-morphing virtual world." A student at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, though originally from Wales, Giles has enlisted the talents of Ceri Frost from his home country to provide the superb soundtrack. Mostly using the Adobe suite of software, the 2d animation is one of those that will appeal to lovers of busy animations. Some of the links to warfare and such eluded me but essentially Mr Chip has women on the mind, a fantasy Giles feeds by use of live footage of a naked women reclining in the bath. Indeed the use of archival material supplements a liberal sprinkling of images in a textured collage effect that is a visual treat - more than that given the music. I love biplanes, particularly red ones, and I also love longboats full of Vikings. Any excuse will do. And when the guy gets to kiss the girl, well, it's just perfect. Giles lists the sites to obtain HQ downloads available at the very best sites. Honestly, DeK at No Fat Clips has weighty video files on offer that devour the space on my computer and explode my bandwidth. Good man that he is.
